The Case for Podcasting

Why It Matters

Podcasting isn't just content. It's connection. A well-crafted show builds authority, trust, and long-term audience loyalty.

01

Humanise Your Brand

Put real voices and real stories behind your organisation — the kind of connection no billboard or banner ad can create.

02

Reach New Audiences Through Story

People skip ads but they finish stories. A show that entertains or informs earns attention that paid media can't buy.

03

Build Authority in Your Field

Consistent, expert content positions your brand as the go-to voice in your sector — long before a prospect ever picks up the phone.

04

Repurpose Every Episode

One recording becomes a video, a blog post, social clips, audiograms, and newsletter content — assets that keep working long after the episode drops.

05

Content That Compounds

Unlike a social post that disappears in 48 hours, a well-produced podcast episode keeps finding new listeners for months and years after it publishes.

The Baird Media Method

Record once and publish everywhere.

Most organisations create content the hard way — something new for every platform, every week, with no coherent strategy behind it. We do the opposite.

01

Pre-Production

We meticulously plan the series — strategy, scripting, guest selection, and rehearsal. Nothing goes to record until it's ready.

02

Batch Recording

Your entire season recorded in focused sessions. Less disruption to your organisation, more consistency in your content.

03

Full Post-Production

Audio, video, transcripts, articles, graphics, social posts — all produced from a single recording.

04

Season Thinking

Each season has a theme, an audience strategy, and a publishing schedule. Intentional, not reactive.

05

Done For You

You provide the conversations. We deliver the finished product, ready to publish across every platform.

Production Packages

Choose your format and everything else is included.

Every deliverable is identical across all three packages. The only variable is how many cameras are in the room.

We're Ethan & Hendrik Baird

The multi-award-winning father-and-son duo behind Baird Media. Ethan and Hendrik Baird bring over 50 years of combined experience across the arts, media, and creative industries — from stage to studio, page to podcast. For every production we assemble a dedicated team of specialists — sound engineers, camera operators, editors, and writers — all working under the leadership of an Executive Producer.

Your podcast deserves expert hands. Backed by decades of experience, multiple industry awards, and professional qualifications, we build shows designed to grow your brand, connect with your audience, and rise above the noise — in audio, video, or both.

Baird Media is a media production company. We focus on podcasting because it is the most accessible, highest-ROI format for thought leadership and content repurposing right now — and because our methodology delivers exceptional results consistently.

Hendrik holds a Masters in Media and Journalism from Wits University. Ethan is a three-time Telkom Radio Award winner for production.

FAQ

Questions Worth Asking

Everything you need to know about working with Baird Media — before you pick up the phone.

Your role is primarily editorial and logistical, not technical. You confirm topics and guests before recording, participate in or host the recording sessions, review the first edit of each episode, and approve final episodes before they are published. Outside of those touchpoints, the production runs without you. Baird Media handles all the technical, creative, and administrative work in between.
Realistically, two to three hours per episode once you are in the rhythm of production — spread across a few weeks. The heaviest lift is in pre-production (briefing, confirming guests, scheduling) and the recording session itself. Review and approval typically takes under an hour per episode. We build the production calendar so you know exactly when you are needed and when you are not.
Batch recording means scheduling two or three episodes to record in a single session rather than recording one episode at a time across multiple dates. We do it for two reasons: it is significantly more efficient for your team (one preparation effort covers several episodes at once), and it creates a content buffer so that post-production, review, and publishing can run on a consistent schedule without pressure. It also reduces the per-episode cost of in-person studio time.
Our standard production timeline is three months: Month 1 is pre-production (planning, onboarding, guest scheduling, run sheets), the first week of Month 2 is batch recording, and the remainder of Month 2 and all of Month 3 is post-production, review, and delivery. A first published episode can realistically land around the eight to ten week mark if the first batch is recorded on schedule and reviews move quickly.
Nothing at all. Baird Media is a full-service production company — we take care of everything on the production side. For in-person sessions we source and book a studio that suits your brief, your format, and your aesthetic. For remote sessions, all you need is a computer, a stable internet connection, and a reasonably quiet room. We handle the platform, the recording, and the technical setup entirely.
It means pricing is based on the length of the final, edited episode — not on recording time, project complexity, or the number of people involved. A 25-minute finished episode at R1,000 per finished minute costs R25,000, regardless of how long you recorded or how many rounds of editing it took. This makes pricing transparent and easy to calculate before you commit.
The minimum order is 6 episodes at a minimum of 15 minutes per finished episode — 90 finished minutes in total. At our entry-level Audio package (R1,000 per finished minute), that is R90,000 for the full series. The Video package sits at R112,500 and the Full package at R135,000 for the same episode count and duration.
No. Baird Media is not VAT-registered. No VAT is charged on our fees. Where third-party suppliers such as studios or specialist contractors charge VAT on their services, that is included in the amounts shown — but our own fees carry no VAT.
Yes — that is exactly how most clients start. Our minimum engagement is one season (6 episodes), and there is no obligation to continue beyond that. We structure the project so that Season 1 is a complete, standalone body of work. If you want to continue into Season 2, the systems, templates, and production calendar are already in place, which makes the next season faster and smoother to execute.
Your production is led by Hendrik and Ethan, the founding team at Baird Media. Day-to-day production is run by our Executive Producer, who works directly under our guidance and is responsible for keeping your project on schedule, on brief, and on standard. You will not be handed off to someone you have never been introduced to — our team is small, senior, and accountable from first call to final delivery.
Our packages are designed as a convenient starting point for the most common production formats, but they are not the only way to work with us. If you have a specific brief — a particular episode format, a one-off special, a hybrid of services, or a scope that does not fit neatly into a standard package — we will quote directly against your needs. Tell us what you are trying to achieve and we will build a proposal around that.
